The Backyard's Northern Flicker Nestbox
Comes with wood shavings. Flickers, like other woodpeckers, don't build nests. They excavate cavities. The wood shavings should be used to fill the nest box to mimic this excavation.
If you have a Northern Flicker attempting to drill a large single hole in the siding of your house, one solution is to cover the hole and put the nest box over top with woodchips inside, so they'll nest in the box and stop tearing your house apart.
All Backyard cedar nest boxes have an easy access front that hinges up for easy cleaning during the winter, once nesting is complete.
