Bark Butter Recipe
Ingredients:
– 2 cups lard
– 2 cups peanut butter (smooth, crunchy or creamy)
– 4 cups cornmeal
– 2 cups rolled oats
– 2 cups unsalted sunflower seed or bird seed of choice
– 1 tsp honey
Mix the first two ingredients together.
Add the rest one at a time, mixing thoroughly between each addition.
Store at room temperature.
Spread mixture on spreadable suet feeder or tree bark.
Watch the birds devour it!

Suet Cakes
Ingredients:
– 1 part peanut butter
– 2 parts melted pure suet
– 2 parts cornmeal
– 4 parts finely ground corn or fine chip sunflower seeds
**Other great additions to homemade suet cakes include insects and peanuts.
**Avoid adding any extra bird seed (excluding hulled sunflower, which can be added in moderation).
Mix and cool in the fridge. Make sure to pour your suet mixture into a mold so it hardens into the desired shape. The plastic square premade suet cakes come in is an excellent choice as it ensures your suet cake can fit in a suet feeder.
