Mason Bee Cocoons - Set of 13
Baker's dozen (13) mason bee cocoons stored at fridge temperature to keep them in hibernation. Split between male and female bees.
When putting out your mason bee cocoons, leave them in the white cardboard box they come in. Open the flap on the box to reveal the round hole they use as an exit, and place the box on or near your mason bee house. When the bees hatch out, they will return to lay their eggs in the nearby tubes.
If you are not putting your bees out right away, they can be stored on the door of your fridge with a wet cloth or sponge nearby to keep them from drying out, or in an unheated garage or shed. Do not wait too long to put your bees out, or they can run out of stored energy and begin to die off. Mason bees will hatch out of their cocoons when the temperature is around 12°C.
