A nest box for our most common cavity nesting birds - chickadees, wrens, and nuthatches.

Made on Salt Spring Island using local driftwood, these boxes made excellent, functional gifts.

Nest boxes should be placed in a fairly shady location, out of direct sun as much as possible. These birds like to be near, but not in, evergreens and other sheltered areas to allow them to pop quickly from the box to the bush, and back again.

Hang boxes roughly 6 feet off the ground, around 6 to 10 feet away from any bird feeders. If you can't space it that far, make sure the entrance hole is turned away from any nearby feeders.

All Heritage nest boxes have a door on the back that can be unscrewed and removed to allow you to clean out the box.
