When the squirrel lands on the feeder, the outer metal shroud drops to cover the feeding ports. Just be sure to place your Squirrel Buster where there are no surrounding ranches or perches the squirrels can reach across from. The Standard's weight sensitivity is adjustable to best meet your needs.
